It is. Still works out way cheaper than the Zinwell though. Plus, if you want a PVR before xmas this this may be your best bet as I hear the Zinwell may not be released on time due to software issues.
Also, being sattelite you can also pick up Stratos.

This unit is looking really interesting - on page 20 of the manual it says it supports 'SCRAMBLE CHANNEL' via a DVB Common Interface compatible CAM (conditional access module) - the pic looks like a PC Card adaptor that read smart cards like Sky's cards. Which makes you wonder if we brought the right reader, can this also decode Sky channels?
Will one of the SatTV nerds on this forum like to shed some light?
If this did, is this the dream, mostly open MySky alternative? I don't need to really record SkyHD, but being able to record SD Sky via Sat would be oresome. And then of course, move those recordings to another device....

Oh, and this on page 46 seems to imply access to the files.....
"Initializing HDD by receiver is in accordance with EXT-3 (Linux) file system.
This file system is not supported MS windows. If you want to playback
recorded program on your PC, you have to format NTFS file system by your PC. But manufacturer recommends EXT-3 file system. We cannot guarantee
    stability for NTFS file system."
